Delphi injectors

Hi guys, keen to hear from anyone who has purchased the delphi stock replacement injectors from southbay, I have a set for my 305 from them and ran into fitment issues as they're substantially shorter than the stock ones, I've followed Frank's install instructions, installing into the manifold first then the rail but due to what I'm assuming is their shorter size, they leak from the rail. The rail is bolted back in place as far down as possible, the only thing I could think of is shaving some height of the manifold mounts which I don't really want to do. Installing them into the rail first as you would with the stock ones results in the bottom of the injector not going far enough into the manifold port. See pics..
Frank has offered me a full refund if they don't work for me but before I take him up on it I just want to hear if others have run into this issue ?

Re: Delphi injectors

I think you misread his instructions. You are supposed to install them into the fuel rail first, then seat them into the manifold. Those instructions are on Southbay's website. Keep in mind that the fuel rail is pressurized, the manifold side is not.

Re: Delphi injectors

The Delphi injectors need to be installed into the rail first and use the stock clips, otherwise they will slide down and leak fuel. As long as the lower O-ring is sitting in the machined bore of the injector boss in the intake manifold, it will be fine.

Re: Delphi injectors

I did mine into the rails first with clips, and didn't have leak issues. I also made sure the rail was brand-new clean, and wiped just a little fresh motor oil over each seal before they went in.
