LB9 Ticking noise. Normal? Injectors?

Hi all.

just wondering if you can have a listen and see if my engine sounds normal at idle. Feels like the ticking is quite loud.

im assuming this is the noise from the injectors. These are also Bosch injectors.

Thank you for listening and commenting.

Use a stethoscope (or a rubber hose on the cheap) to see where the noise is strongest. I'd be inclined to agree with injectors but I can't put my ears to anything through a video

I did that last weekend with a stethoscope to different places on the intake manifold and it all sounds about the same. The ticks are on every ignition so I’m still thinking the injectors.

thanks for your comment.

I put new Bosch III's from SBFI in my formula they are very clicky - they sound SIMILAR to that... however yours appear to be more of the stock type.... second the stethoscope suggestion, or a long screwdriver (careful around belts/fans obviously),.. almost sounds like a manifold leak

My injectors do tick somewhat like that, doesn't seem like mine are quite as loud but in person is different than what a microphone is picking up.

Is it running weird? Can you still hear it with the hood closed? You could try running with the belt off for a few seconds to verify it isn't coming from the accessory drive. Also a smoke test would be ideal for potential vacuum leaks.

It hasn’t ran better, and the noise does go much quieter when the hood is closed. All the vacuum lines have been changed and are brand new.
