Engine suddenly died

Hello I have a 350 tpi in my 88 and I’ve been having misfire issues I’ve change a lot of parts involved with the ignition and I drove around today after the parts were done and it ran fine for about a hour then as I was on my homes street only going 15 the engine lost power wouldn’t respond when I tried to give it gas it was knocking but the oil pressure wasn’t bad or any of the gauges the only part I haven’t changed yet is the distributor itself and now the car won’t start at all but before I turned it off I listened to the idle and there were no knocks or any suspicious sounds has anyone had this issue? Could my distributor have just died or could I have a spun bearing?

Re: Engine suddenly died

Would think it could still run if you spun a bearing or would hear it usually. Got any spark now?

I’m not sure I haven’t done any testing yet but the engine turns fine just won’t start

At this point, the problem could be anything. Start with the basics---fuel pressure, spark at the plugs, and injector pulse at the injectors. The results of those tests will provide you with some direction in which to further troubleshoot.

A spun bearing wouldn't keep the engine from starting as long as the crankshaft still spins.
