Fuel Pressure Regulator loud ticking noise?

Fuel Pressure Regulator loud ticking noise?
Hello TGO - I've had this noise forever of a loud ticking that I think I've narrowed down to being the FPR.
It moves with RPM and does speed up as well if you manually move the TPS - Noise has stayed the same with stock injectors, new southbay injectors, old/new fuel pump, filters, etc. (88 TPI, car is basically stock).
The car runs great, I'm just curious why it would be so loud? Does it need a rebuild? I have searched for other threads but there are not many... Any insight is appreciated.
