Anyone know anything about cars? Noone's willing to help.....

Sorry for the repost but I really need help..

I have a new jasper reman that recently started making a noise. Sounds like a top end chatter type of noise. Kinda hard to explain. I brought it to a local shop thinking it was an engine valve problem of some sort. He had diagnosed the car with a faulty FPR. I then took the car home and bought a new Holley adjustable FPR 35-65lb. I installed it on the car and started it up. The same noise is there. I put a fuel pressure tester on it and the needle is jumping within 2lb's. With KOEO i can adjust it to 44 lbs without a problem. And the MAX pressure i can adjust to is 42-44lbs. I tried pulling injectors 1 by 1 to see if the noise goes away but it does not. The sound seems to be leaning on the driver side portion of the fuel system.

Does anyone have some suggestions on what to look at? Or little quick tests to rule some things out?

I've never heard low fuel pressure make a chattering noise. Try tightening up the valve lash a tad. It's possible that you have a dead lifter, or a bent pushrod. Also, if you've got a non-roller block (pre-87) you very well could have valvetrain damage in the form of a wiped lobe. Your thread(s) are kinda vague.

Yea the shop i took it too which is prefered by jasper, said it has to be a fuel issue. He had diag. it as a "Faulty fuel pressure regulator". It sounds like a chattering topend to me. I have no idea how this noise could be a fuel issue. But why would my fuel pressure bounce/jump like it does? What would make that happen?

Yeah , you have a wire grounding out . The chatter sound like spark . Just based on that I would get a new set of wires. what do you mean the NICE went away ?

I could be wrong though

Yea im checked the wire which is new so it was OK. going to replace it anyways just to be on the safer side. its a pain in the @$$ to check but mabye for some reason the spark plug loosened up and the noise is because its not sealed properly. Going to buy a wrench to try and get at it. Hooker headers are a pain to get around. Thanks for the help ill keep you updated.
