Noisy fuel pressure regulator

My fuel pressure regulator seems to be making a lot of noise. At first I thought it was my EGR, but I've since eliminated that as the source of the noise. The noise coming from the fuel pressure regulator makes the engine sound like a dam diesal. Could this be because of the SVO 24# injectors? Any other ideas?

Uh your regulator shouldn't make any noise and even if there was something wrong with it wouldn't. The only other potential culprits are a)the EGR vacuum solenoid (check it agian) and mostly like b)those injectors. I have a set of ford racing injectors on my GTA and they're noisy as hell.

The injectors are making a completely different sound altogether. The sound of the injectors doesn't bother me all that much, mainly because I expected it. I did some searches and had read another post about a fuel pressure regulator making noise because the fuel pressure wasn't right. I'm not saying that this is the problem, but I swear it's the fuel pressure regulator making all the noise that makes the diesal sound.

A fuel pressure regulator is a cap, a spring, and a diaphram, now what in there can make noise?

Lifters can sometimes make a pretty illusive ticking noise, and injectors as well. Those are the two most likely candidates.

Believe me, if I knew exactly what was going on, I wouldn't be asking you guys for help. I know exactly what lifter noise sounds like and what injector noise sounds like. This is neither one of them. I'm not saying the noise absolutely is the FPR, it just really sounds like it's coming from that area. The noise almost sounds like air being push outwards in short spurts. It seems to be coming from right under the plenum towards the back.

The regulator does not make noise. You need to check the EGR
gasket.

The best way to fix EGR is to not have it

It's a brand new gasket, but I'll check it out to make sure it's not damaged.

The way my luck goes, if I was to remove any emissions stuff, they would change the emissions laws the next day.
