Pictures of AIR delete please
Any pictures of TPI motors with 100% of AIR removed. The pump, and the tubing into the manifolds. Just curious how clean the engine compartment would be.

Here are a couple pics of mine. It was all removed before I purchased the car but I probably would have gotten rid of it myself.

Worth it as long as you don’t have emissions or smog. It makes changing spark plugs so much easier.

That's a beautiful engine compartment. What did you do with the tube going to the CATs ?
There is no more smog in NY after 25 years....

I removed it when I refinished the valve covers. Funny you mention that as it was the only AIR part left by the previous owner. IIRC there is a metal clip with a bolt to the firewall that holds the tube in place. You have to remove it from underneath. The tube was just cut off @ the cat. Then I pulled everything up through the top. My check valve was still attached so it won't go out the bottom.

Did you use pipe plugs on the exhaust manifolds ?
I'm the original owner, and I only changed plugs once, and only once. It just wasn't worth it.
Now that I have a bad rattling CAT, I need to do something.

Yes I did. I can't remember what the threads were but I got them @ my local ACE in the plumbing section so they are nothing special. I did paint them black before I installed them.

Re: Pictures of AIR delete please
On my Magnaflow CAT I cut the tube and sealed it near converter port. Seeing as how your catalytic converter sounds like it could use replacing you may be able to find a performance one without the smog tube provision? The only extra step I did was have EGR and AIR tuned out with a new chip.
The plugs for the manifolds were inverted flare or something like that, Edelman makes a good one that fit perfect. There is a part number referenced in a few threads or as Vinny said hit the hardware store.

@@J.C. Denton Nice, clean engine compartments.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the significance of the headlight decal with "1.25%" affixed to the radiator support?

I'm liking what I see. I wouldn't even have to tune it to remove AIR. Just all labor, and hopefully removing the AIR tubes into the manifolds. That's what scares me. 35 years of rust.
I wanted to keep it all original, but the bad N10 CAT changed my plans.
I haven't decided yet if I'm gutting the CATs, or going straight pipes.
