Cannot figure it out

So I have 86 TA 305 tpi and I was having issues with it stalling so I changed the fuel pump and now it doesn’t stall out but now when I’m driving it will shift to second and then once it hits 3k rpm’s it will die out and once it goes back down to around 1k ish rpm’s it will cut back on any help is appreciated

Could be a clogged catalytic convertor.

im currently on open headers I’ve drove it on open headers for about 6 months without issue

My go to (probably due to my own gremlin that I chased for years and saw cause all sorts of weird things): Check the ignition control module.

Did you replace the fuel filter? Does sound like a fuel delivery problem.

I would believe it’s good I just changed it days ago , I actually changed the inj fuse and the problem actually went away the one run I took it on but it did seem to redline more of at 4k in second gear when before it I wanted I could redline at 6k
