Will the Miniram RUN w/ the stock PROM?
Just wondering. Will my crate motor even run w/ this intake? Do I have to buy PROM burning equipment as soon as I buy the intake? Will it fit my "corvette style" heads? Thanks in advance.
Sure it will run, but not to the best of it's ability. If you've already got a chip set up for the zz4 you might even be able to drive it for quite a while, you'll need the chip to take advantage of the extra air flow potential though.

As mentioned above, it will most likely "run" but it will be FAR from optimal, especially with SD.
The stock SD VE tables will be a complete mis-match for the Miniram. There is a strong correlation between the VE Table "fuel curve" and the TQ curve of the engine.
With the stock eprom (in PE/WOT), you will be overly rich from 2,500-3,600 rpm and then lean over 3,600 rpm.

That's exactly what I'm experiencing with my LT4 intake. At idle you can smell the gas from a mile away so it's running way too rich. Since I havn't gotten a scantool yet I havn't been able to check it but of course it's running way too lean in the upper rpms. I'll be buying a scantool, the prom burning equipment and software very soon (along with bigger injectors). I already downloaded the TunerCat trial software but can't do a single thing with it. I guess it's not a free trial since you have to spend $20 to get a definition file. "Supposedly" it is supposed to come with one for a TBI truck but that is not true. I'll be buying the $8D definition file in the next couplp days so I can at least mess around with the software and try to get a head start on learning it. Glenn, your help will be needed in a short while I'm sure.

Another thing to keep in mind is the dreaded MiniRam backfire through the intake problem that a lot of us experienced. This is easily fixed by increasing the pump shot in the PROM. So - if you get an off-idle backfire through the intake (or even an off idle stumble) then you'll know what the problem is.
