what does a 1990 iroc use to detect airflow ? does it use MAF and where is it located?

 

Hey, you are lucky. You have the only year iroc with the speed density system. You have no maf sensor or burnoff relays to worry about. Instead of a maf, you have a map sensor connected to your intake by a vacume hose. I think its located at the back near the top of the firewall, but im not sure. But your car did come with the speed density system and I think that is considered most to be a good thing.

On my 90 Iroc the MAP sensor is located on the passenger's side of the plenum.
