Newbie Needs Help!!!!
Hi All,
I have a 91 Camaro 355 TPI, rebuilt with Comp Cam for TPI, flat top pistons, Sportsman II Cylinder heads. I ran out of cash and had to use the 19lb injectors to get the Camaro going. A friend burned a chip for me, disabled vats, no a.i.r, lowered the cooling fan to compliment a lower thermostat and set it for the 19lb injectors. Scanner was giving me a block learning of 86 and a rich flag. The injectors were the only thing not replaced in the rebuild and they were the originals. I purchased a set of 30lb Accel injectors and installed them this weekend. When I went to start the car up it would not start. Do I need to have a new chip burned, what needs to be changed and why the big difference? Please excuse me being nieve, this is all new to me and I have to learn from someone! Hope one of you guys can point me in the right direction. Thanks Chris

You need to post this on the DIY Prom board. If you tell the computer you have 19lb injectors and you really have 30's, you will be incredibly rich. You must change the injector constants in the prom to match your injector size. It's possible that your friend tried to compensate for the 19lb injectors originally by setting the constants smaller than 19. It's normal to move the constants up or down to bring the BLM's to 128, but you must scan first to get an idea where you need to be. Do you have an AFPR? What's your fuel psi? Are your plugs wet after trying to start it?
