Trapping at aprox 4500 RPMS.......
and Im wondering if I swap gears should I go with 3:42s or 3:73s?? I have 3:23s now and my trap MPH is down cause Im hooking hard (1.76s) but it runs at 4500 RPMS thru the finish line give/take so I figured Id ask here anyones opinions/results in gear swaps with a L98. If it makes a difference I have a TPIS base/SLP runners/ported plenum all port matched waiting to go on soon and SLP 1 3/4 headers already installed after my last run, what would you suggest?(Income tax time is a great time of year

I think if I were trying to squeeze all of it out I could (assuming you're going for ET's, damned the MPH) would be to install the intake setup and tune it, then either make a series of passes with different shift points, or drop some dimes on Dyno time.
Find where you're making good power to. Adjust the rear gears accordingly.
Damn, your car is definitely one of the "freaks" we see mentioned here occaisionally.

My MPH is not impressive but as Ive hooked harder the MPH has dropped but the times have dropped as well(all that matters I guess). March 2nd I get to see what removing the AC and the SLP 1 3/4s net me at the track. Then as you mentioned above the intake goes on, AFPR and I have a guy thats gonna tune my set up with a custom burnt chip and then Ill mess with shift points as I let the tranny do all the shifting for me now. Im asking about gears cause Im trying to squeeze every last drop out of the L98 and Im running out of tricks. The bolt ons will be finished soon then Ill be looking at light weight rims, !swaybar, bypassing smog pump with a short belt if thats possible like the one I read in the tech section, weight reduction, gears etc etc. Ill post times as I go along the way but thanks for the reply, suggestions and for the compliment, its appreciated..

Transmission: New Stuff
If you will, what do you have done to your car suspension and drivetrain wise to get those 60 fts? Tires? Torque converter?
I can't hook for sh*t, but my stuff is stock and old besides LCAs.
Also, what are your trap speeds?
thanx

For suspension Im running Spohn LCAs and adj panhard bar. I also have dual cat friendly SFCs and a STB, stock springs and Im running BFG drag radials (255/50/16s mounted on stock 92 Z28 rims). In the tranny I have a SLP 800rpms over stock converter, B&M shift kit and tranny cooler and a TPIS alum D.S. For power its a all stock internal L98 with the common bolt-ons for that 13.521 run (minus headers and removing AC I did afterwards). Bolts are: airfoil, crank pulley, K&Ns, 8.8 wires and MSD ignition, MAT relocate, Flowmaster cat back, Catco dual cats, Hyperjunk chip and 160 Tstat. Thats my recipe for mid 13s and the car weighs 3688 w/ driver after removing spare/jack/Bose/floor matts and whatever little stuff doesnt need to take the ride. For trap speeds best Ive seen on street tires is 100.8 but usually 97-99. As I hooked harder they went down to 94.7and up. If you want to see time slips and some movies and pics of the car and what not I have alot on my webpage if youre interested, ive tried to document it as Ive gone along....
