Best runner-base-plenum combo?!?
Best runner-base-plenum combo?!?
Accel, Lingenfelter, TPIS, SLP, Edelbrock, Weiland, AS&M, stock.....siamesed, ported?????? Whats the best combo. I would like the siamesed I think and I dont mind spending a little extra money, I don't want to go with a LT1/Miniram/Superram manifold.
I assume the best combo will be one base with somone else's runners and a port job on top....
its for a 350 with AFR 195 heads 1 3/4" headers and a hyd-roller 224/230 cam with a 52mm throttle body 10.5:1 Holley Commander 950 ECU
on a side noe...what do you guys think of this....Im thinking of getting a 85 firebird and Im thinking 406 LT1 intake, AFR 220 heads, 230/236 HR cam/58mm throttle body 8.5:1 with Procharger 14lbs boost and Accel DFI with a ford 9" 3.45 posi, art carr 700r4, spohn suspension or I may go with the FP performance ECU for a sequential fire

I know you don't want to hear it, but none of that crap is going to feed a motor that's got 195s. An LT4 intake or miniram would be the only 2 things I'd screw with.
That said... you want maximum flow if you ever have any chance of pushing the TPI's power range into the same area that those heads. Get any aftermarket base (they're all the same) port the **** out of it, AS&M siamesed runners, and ported plenum.
Of course, the aftermarket base and AS&M runners will put you pretty near the cost of a miniram.

Ditto what Jim said. I did the Big Mouth base, ported plenum, SLP runners and I'm not happy with it. HP peak is a truck like 4800 rpm. I'm going the LT1/4 conversion as soon as I can scrape up the $$.

Some one send me a F40 Z28 Wing and I'll give them a free modified LT1 intake and fuel rails.
