what kind of tools?

what assortment of tools do you guys use to get to the distributor tab bolt so we can time the car? I tried crows feet...no luck. Several distributor wrenches...no luck. Ratchet w/ 6" extension and universal joint w/ socket...no luck...that was 3/8" drive though...maybee I need a 1/4" drive ratchet/extension/wobble/socket????? what do you think/know?

i use a distributor wrench that fits into a ratchet or breaker bar.
but its not just in a "L" shape its like 2 L's attached it goes down then out a little then down a little more then out the rest of the way.
if i had a camera i would take a pic of it but i can't
it looks like this

They sell pre-bent distributor wrenches, I have a Snap On one, but you can get them cheaper at most any good auto parts store. Makes it real quick and simple to loosen that bolt.

Im not sure what you call it but I just use a little socket with a joint in it so that it bends up to 90 degrees. Just use that and a 4" ext and your good. The Socket is a little hard to get on the bolt but I just leave it on there 24/7 and just stick the extension back on to it whenever I want to change my timing.
It works great and never falls off like you think it would.

you just have to get the vaccume lines out of the way and you kinda have to tilt the wrench a little so its not flat against the base of the bolt.
