Help porting the plenum

OK, I want to port my plenum and I remember a description on here, but before I take a grinder to my car I wanted to double check if I have it right. If I take of the air intake stuff and look into the throttle body with the covers open, I see a flat area on the bottom of each of the two openings, Immeditaly behind the round throttle body covers that blocks maybe 10% of the the total round opening on each one. The idea is to take off everything and use a dremel tool and grind this flatt area off until it is flush with the round opening, right? I have a dremel tool and it's plugged in, please confirm procedure doctor!!!
