diferences between Vortec and vette alum. heads?

What are the main differeces between the two?Do they flow about the same stock #'s as iron?
Thanks

The Vortecs flow quite a bit more than the Vette heads do. I don't have the exact numbers but they are considerably better. The Vortec heads are cast iron of course and also need a differant intake. The older style intake can't be modified to fit so it's best not to even try. It kills any advantage of the Vortec if you do get it to fit without leaking. The Vette heads take the older bolt angle intakes.

If you need new heads AND a differant intake (as in a swap for instance) then you can get the Vortec heads and an intake in a kit for about $700. The heads can be had in stock or upgraded form for higher lift cams.

It may sound like I'm selling Vortec head. I'm not. I have a set of the Vette heads and really wish now I'd gotten the Vortecs since I had to buy a new intake anyway!
