IMO all chips are crup unless custom made. I would not pay $20 for any of them. All that they are is the exact copy of your existing chip with few degrees of timing added to the spark table at WOT. Nothing else.
I am getting into the prom burning right now. It is very interesting topic. I have most of the equipment and right now my friend is building me a EPROM programmer for like $25(parts).
If you want more info on your question go to DYI Prom and do a search.
Just be careful and do not ask this question there. Glen and Grumpy are just waiting for a question like that so they can fire their ammo at you. HAHA!
Good luck.

Don't pay all those crazy prices for something that you can do yourself for free by advancing your timing!! The best chip for performance is going to be a custom chip made by either you or some1 you know that can.
my chip stopped my car from backfiring (when reving) after i installed a catback exhaust. it also makes my torque converter lockup at 50mph instead of 40mph. i would definitely recommend a custom program.
is there a programmer that can be hooked up to the computer (other than a chip) that would change timing and air/fuel ratios. if anyone is familiar with motorcycles, there is a unit called a "POWER COMMANDER" that plugs into the computer and you can either change settings from the unit itself or hook it up to a laptop and make changes (on or off) the vehicle. you can also download custom maps.
thanks,
riz

I dont know if thirdgen's have it.... I dont think so. The 4th gen's definetly do. My roommate plugs his laptop into his 95 Trans Am and it tells him EVERYTHING. Actual coolant temp, MAP, MAF temp, oil temp, RPM, actual speed, etc. And when he gets the program called LT1EDIT, he will be able to change any of the computer parameters. I wish thirdgen's had the same thing...
