"Rare Factory Intake"

Anybody know what this is about? I've never heard of such a beast. Those intake ports do look a little larger than stock from what I can tell, although I'm sure it could have just been ported. Anyway... anybody ever heard of this?

Never heard of this BUT

It might be the same intake as the factory race firehawks...
Have u ever seen the whole top end of those hawks? I like nothing we have. I always woundered if we could slap on that intake and TPI? configuration on a 350.

Hmmm anybody know about those Firehawk engine, specs, numbers...

The Firehawk intake is a completely different intake than your standard TPI intake... imagine a 5.0 Ford intake and you're pretty close.

BTW that sure looks like a stock intake to me... I don't see any part numbers, no close up pics of a ground off part number, and it looks to have typical corrosion/grease/yellowing from being used, and it appears as though somethign is up with the injector bosses... it might be a glare from the machined surface but at least one of them looks like there's an O-ring lying inside the bore.

Also we all know that an aftermarket intake isnt going to be 40hp, and we all know that Edelbrock, Accel, TPIS, etc all sell their bases for not much more than this auctions price. AND the guy has 0 feedback points.

I never heard of it, but that means nothing. It looks to be nothing more than an improved base plate (maybe). The guys story sounds kinda fishy. Besides the price is up to 350 now, just pick yourself up an edelbrock piece for that price. BTW the 30-40 hp claim for just a base plate is totally bogus.

The distributor clamp down bolt hole placement is the same as my Accel intake...which is different than my stock intake.

The "A" he talks about could be a ground off "Accel" name

Actually, I've decided on an accel base. I never had any intentions of buying this one on ebay. It's just that I've never in my life heard of such a "rare" factory baseplate, and found it to be very fishy. I just wanted to share and see if somebody knew something I didn't.

A friend of mine has the T-Ram from SLP and the base looks nothing like the stock TPI base.
this is my buddy's motor,

Oh, I just noticed that the Red Firehawk has the same Cold Air setup I have.

Look at his other auctions.
He sells NASCAR heads and the infamous "Ultimate Racer's Table," which is made of a V6 block from blahblah, it's rare too

I don't believe it. Why? The intake looks exactly like an aftermarket intake with the dual EGR ports (corvette or F-Body), Corvette fuel rail hold downs, etc. So, IMHO, that leaves two possible answers ...

1) Its not real.
2) It is real and Edelbrock/TPIS copied this design for their aftermarket base.

He noticed a huge difference. Pulls hard all the way to 6 grand.
He has a 90 Firebird Formula with the L98.
He's had the T-Ram for about 6 years or so. Bought it from Summit when SLP still sold it.

Zepher,
You need to give him your dual air to make it look complete.

Do you know the part number for the upper radiator hose. I need to use one temporarily until I install mine.

Thanks

Hey Zepher. Do you know how much he paid for it back then?

It was sold in 2 parts. I can only find the 1 receipt from Summit.
Sum-SLP20100 T-Ram Manifold 514.00
I believe the other half was around $350

The fuel line kit SUM-SLP 20130 was 149.69
and there was a kit also for the Automatic Trans bracket

He paid around $1300 or so for everything. That is his estimate since it was awhile back.

I am not sure about the part number for the radiator hose.
I don't even think I needed to put the SLP one on, I just put it on since it came in the kit. With the stock hose, it looked like it might have crimped the hose where it goes under the air intake, but the SLP one looks a little crimped as well.
Also, it is a pain to remove the drivers side Valve cover with that hose there.

My Dual will be for sale when I put my Turbos on.

I should put my stock intake manifold on ebay and say it's rare and set the reserve at $250. What a joke.

Oh my ***. Look at the coffee table he's selling, it looks like someone dropped some heads on a chair and glued a piece of glass to the top. What a piece of junk.

A T-ram with all the necessary brackets and adapters retailed for about $ 1,450.00 from Summit.

Basically the T-ram is a tunnel ram base with a large box/plenum on top.

I believe the in-take runner length is 11 inches which falls between the LT-1 in-take and stock TPI runner length.

I bought my T-ram in 1995 and at the time there were three different manifolds available. TPIS Mini Ram, Super Ram & T-ram. The reason I chose the T-ram was it is emissions legal and was supposed to allow higher RPMs than the Super Ram.
