Diryty TB giving me bad idle???
I heard that a dirty TB can cause rough idling, is this true? What is the best way to clean a TB?

I think it would give you a tip in hesitation on take offs.
The best way to clean it is to disassemble it and spray it with something like Brake Cleaner and wipe it with a clean cloth.
Do not forget to clean IAC passages too while you are it.
Good luck.

SMKNG,
Forget the brake cleaner - it's hell on the plastic parts. Use a sensor safe spray carburetor cleaner. Remove the bellows from the front of the TB (engine off). Manually open the throttle plates and start spraying. You may need to use a small brush to break up some of the deposits. Clean the IAC air passages, too. Once everything is loosened, start the engine and spray a bit more while it is idling. Rinse out the throttle bores and IAC air passage with more spray cleaner. Shut it off and button it up.
If your car has a MAF sensor you will have generated a code '34' and will have to clear that. Readjust the throttle minimum air position and TPS as necesary.

Vader,
I don't mean to sound stupid but I'm new to this so I just want to get a couple things straight. I leave the TB on the car and spray a sensor safe carb cleaner into the TB when the car is off and the plates are open and use a brush to get any of the hard crap off the TB, then turn the car on and spray some more when the car is at idle, right. My car is a 1989 GTA so it does have a MAF so what does a code 34 mean or do, and how do I get rid of it, can I just disconect the battery? Thanks for your help.
