L98 Corvette Heads vs. F-Body heads
L98 Corvette Heads vs. F-Body heads
Hi guys I'm new here. I just wanted to ask, what are the differences between the Corvette Aluminum heads and the F-Body cast iron heads besides the fact that one is aluminum and one is iron? I have an L98 Formula and want to do the swap. I'm keeping all of my emissions equip. What should I watch out for? Will there be need for special fabrication? Can I just get a set of new heads from a GM dealer? If so, what are the part numbers? Thanks.
Don't bother. You'll see minimal power increases if any at all. I'd spend my money on a good aftermarket head.
As for the differences... they have better springs, screw in studs and guideplates and a smaller combustion chamber of 58 cc

yeah the bolt holes are different I found that out the hard way
oh well, yeah should have gotten aftermarket heads instead of these ones.

The corvette heads have 58cc combustion chambers and will raise compression, they have lower thermal efficiency thus you can run more timing per compression, and they have D port exhaust which flows higher numbers, they can be ported and modified to be very competitive, read up on what lingenfelter has done with them, its impressive.
What are the opions without the EGR crossover? I have a set of these I am going to put on. Do you have to have the crossover? The center two bolt holes on the intake are the two that you open up right???
