heh, what must my priorities be? My first priority is to my children, second is to my wife. My cars are a long ways down the priority list.

BTW - I ran an 8.491 @ 85.61 in the 1/8th in my POS Mustang
I don't have any times for the Camaro because the 305 has cracked heads

still having some fun

This isnt "The Family Digest Forum" so you know what priorities I
was referring to.

Sell your Mustang , buy a Kick @ss motor for your IROC and
dont forget to buy something nice for your wife and kids
with all the money youll have left over.

Actually I was thinking of putting in a mild carb'd 350 and spend the time and money on the interior. It's in pretty bad shape as the car has been sitting outside for way too long. It's an '82 Z28 pace car, blue and silver.

Sounds like the makings of a great project car.
Enjoy your thirdgen build-up

ive made a couple shakedown passes on the d1 89 coupe. i just finished it a few weeks ago. been working on it since 97. it ran 6.0s@118 in the 1/8 mile. we might be kinda close. the gt is my daily driver/fun car. the coupe is a little faster then the gt, but i dont really consider the coupe a street car since it has full wolfe drag race suspension and cage and runs on pure vp c16, doesnt have an overdrive trans or a/c. so, are we talking street cars or race cars? i just figured the turbo car was more of a street car. thats why i posted. i didnt think the little board space i was taking up would bother anyone. sorry.

Sorry but, you did post on a board specifically for third generation
camaros and firebirds.

"SURVEY: 1/4 mile times of tpi 305&350s "

Your Mustang doesnt have a 305, 350 or TPI.

You only got the "Post your 1/4 mile times" part right.

Your post, as small as it may be, is still read by everyone going
through this string. The majority of the guys posting their
1/4 times here only have cars that run 14.?s . The last time I
checked an 8.0 @100 mph in the 8th is about a mid 12 sec 1/4
car. So, you can now see that your post, no matter how good
intentioned, still comes off as "You all have slow @ss cars, why
bother..."

Go post your 1/4 times at LS1.com and see how those guys do.

Nuff Said

i guess i just assumed everyone would have enough common sense not to compare a heads, intake, poweradder car to mostly stock cars that run good for what they have. how foolish of me. why are you the only one that seems to have a problem with me whiteroc?

Heres my best thus far without the AFPR...

1.969 60ft. (bald XP2000Z's)

8.222 1/8th

14.56 @ 92MPH

I too experienced the 2-3 shift problem with my 700R4. This run was letting off the gas in 2nd and pedaling it in 3rd so it wouldn't downshift. I see a low 14- high 13 in the near future. Still basically stock too

Well Guy, My Bad! ...I think if a "Mustang Guy" comes over
to a Camaro - Firebird site and shows an interest in whats
going on then he can't be all that bad.

You're here for some reason, maybe your thinking about buying an F-body, more power to you.

If you're ever up in OKC, we'll go run em' just for S&Gs

Peace -Dave

Do you think it would be possible to have someone set up a page on thirdgen that would list times? Kinda like a giant spread sheet. Have it list the times, names and major mods. Then have it link to the persons profile to list all the mods.
I think it would be helpful cause with 10,000 members someone has to have a setup similar to what the reader wants. It would also slow some of the "I'm gonna add blah blah what kinda improvement will I get" questions. You could just look on the list for the answer. You could also look at it to see what kinda setup would give a certain time.

I know it would not be a perfect "add this to run this" situation but it would give an idea.

Just an idea.

That's some good times; the weather wasn't that good last week.

My IROC has similar mods and ran mid to low 14s at Raceway Park a few years ago on BFG DRs with 1.95s short times in good weather. But it weighs close to 3,800lbs.

Check out the sig. I'm gettin' ready to port n' polish the heads, siamese the intake, and add 1.6 rockers. Gonna G-tech it before and after to see how much i'll pick up. The track opens on the 13th, so that'll be the true test.

Well... I pretty much spun my tires for 50 ft. and ran a 15.5 @ 90mph... 60ft time was 2.4

My best 60 ft. has been 2.2 last year but the car bawged down in the last gear.

What kinda times should i have with that speed and 2.73 gears?
