I would like to know what times you my fellow tpi guys are runing i just went to the track at EnglishTown today and i ran
a 14.86@89.54mph (with the mods i have shown)and that is mush faster then any of the other 305 tpis that where running there. all the other 305 tpi firebirds and camaros that were there were runing 15.60
i would like to know what time your guys are runing with what engine and mod you have.
thank you very much

wow 14.86 with only 89.6 mph what kind of 60 ft are you pulling?
i only got 15.20 with 91.7 mph with a horrible 2.4 60ft.
Time for me to look for traction.

when i ran yesterday my best 60' time was 2.02 and that is with a 9bolt rear with 3.45 gears and i could not launch hard at all because the rear is i one legger now i had to feather it out of the hole i would rev the converter to 1500 and feather it and i got that time with a little tire spin if i fix my posi, put drag radials, and do some suspention work like control arms and panhard rod im sure i can launch much harder and actualy use my 2500 converter im sure i can run a 14.50 or less if i do this
and i shifted every gear manualy at like 5300-5500 and got the best results

14.74 @ 93mph, 2.13 60', mods are in the sig.
Should be running better with re-programmed prom, still working out the bugs on my LG4 to TPI swap.
I actually feel really slow compared to you guys, with the amount of mods I have and the slow performance.

305 TPI 5 speed, 2032 cam, siamesed base, AFPR, 1 5/8" headers, high flow cat, flowmaster muffler, SLP chip, home made intake, 3.42 gears, no traction (2.2x 60')
Probably ~$1500 in mods.
14 flat and 99-100mph will come with tuning.

15.93 is the best I could muster out of my 87 Iroc 305, auto, and 3.42s. Traction was my major problem, and the lack of practice (only had the car a month). I ran 2-16.3s and 1-16.4 and one 15.9. Hopefully with some new tires (245/50 instead of 205/55) some headers, Y-pipe and Air foil I'll be doin tons better. Let's hope.

My best ET was a 14.75 I guess. The timeslip showed otherwise but my buddies watching said the screen read a 14.75. MPH?? Dunno. But my best was 96mph I guess. I had SFC's, Flowmaster 80 series, shift kit, 3.73's, !MAF screens, K&N's...... And I could launch too. All but a few of my launches last year were in the 2.0x range. Car had a few problems I guess, I should have been way faster than that.

Time for some laughter. With my assummed 200K 305 TPI auto i ran a best of 15.8 at 84.1 with a 60 ft time of 2.287.
I'll let you guys know what i run with the 350 and stuff, if i get to go to EnglishTown tomorrow, hoping for real low 15 or high 14.
My buddy with a bone stock 2001 Mustang auto ran a 14 flat at like 99, he ran 13.9 at 100 with a ravin mufflers.

Last summer I ran 14.4s and hit 96mph for the first time. My best ET of 14.41 was on a different cooler day. I have all basic first and cheap mods, running BFG Comp T/A's, getting worn. I still have stock heads and exhaust manifolds. Done some tranny work and recently porting and gasket matching the base manifold. Also major computer PROM tuning. I am going to run this spring and see how she goes, then the 3.73's are going in. Hoping to hit the 13 bracket then.
123,000 miles, ran a 9.36 at 77mph in the 1/8th. Mods are in my sig. I was getting bad knock counts from a header flange that was hitting the crossmember and the fuel pump was on the way out. Getting it all fixed as soon as I get some more stuff from Summit! Just gotta find the time, so hopefully a 9.0 is just around the corner.
My best time is a 14.6 @ 95 MPH with a 2.2 60' time...
1989 Formula TPI 305, 5sp, 3.42 gear, SLP 1 5/8 headers, dual hi flow cats, SLP cat back exhaust, rebuilt 305 (forged pistons, decked block and balanced) adjustable fuel press regulator, mild cam, holley fuel pump, and a little cylinder head work.

My '85 had a best time of 15.0 @ 91.5...but that was before high flow cat, cat back, and trans rebuild (wasnt shifting into 3rd @ wot). I am positive the car is currently a high 14 second performer, but no slips to prove it.
P.S. its for sale

Mods and times are in sig. But I was just wondering if everyone understands that times from different tracks and days will make some cars seem fast or slow...
I just didn't want anyone to think their car is slow b/c a car with the exact same mods as them is running a half second faster.
I know I took .2 off my time just by waiting till the weather cooled down a bit.
Not to mention the elevations of different states...
Maybe everyone knows all of this, so I'll shut up now.

I have an '87 LB9 305 in my Monte SS, with the following mods -
Crane Roller 2031 Compucam, World Products S/R Torquer 305 heads, SVO 19lb. injectors, Edelbrock headers, air foil, !MAF screens, K&N cone filter, shift kit, posi, and 3.73 rear.
Any time I race, its on my 245/50 16 BFG Comp T/A street tires. My best run with her so far is a 15.0 @ 93 mph, with a 2.4 60' time!
If I could launch without wheelspin, I could be in the mid-high 14s.
Must...get...new...torque converter!

My best to date is 13.521 on a 1.770 60ft at a pathetically low 94.x MPH. This is with stock internals, mild tranny work, boltons only and some suspension pieces and was thru the manifolds and stock rear at 3688lbs with driver. Since then Ive added SLP 1 3/4s and !AC but Im yet to run a better ET but Im not done yet....

Went to the track tonight and ran a best of 14.8 at 90.97 with a 60 ft time of 2.187. I had 2 problems: 1 totally no traction, my best run started out with smoke and going sideways, 2 the tranny didn't want to shift from 2nd to 3rd, my 1st and 3rd run I had to let off the gas because I was doin about 70 in 2nd at 5500rpm and it wouldn't shift, i let off the gas, dropped 3-4mph and then it shifted. I lost a lot of time doing that.

My Best so far is a 15.2 @91mph... 2.2 60 ft. this is on bald street tires and with my tranny slippin.. Only mods are 80 series exhaust, hypertech chip, coil and plugs, and a hefty 140,000 miles.. otherwise stock. I had Jamex foam old filthy filters in it. This was my first day out at the track racing. Only made 4 runs in my life.. Don't want to kill the trans that slippin until i have more money.

14.48 @ 95.6 May 1990 at Gateway International Raceway. Bone stock '88 Mustang GT 5-speed fully loaded and with the "economy" 2.73 rear gears and original worn-out "Gatorbacks" (same tires as when I bought car 2 years earlier, now with 43000 miles on them).
14.31 @ 98.3 April 1991 at Gateway. Same car as above with another year's worth of wear on the tires (57000 miles) but this time with Hypertech Power Module.
13.89 @ 98.9 June 1992 at Gateway. Back to stock chip due to converting to "mass air", 3.73 gears, 65mm throttle body, MAC off-road exhaust, underdrive pulleys and failing stock fuel pump.
13.13 @ 108.1 April 1993 at Gateway. Same as above but with new 110 lph fuel pump and NOS kit #5115 (75hp nitrous shot).
14.12 @ 96.4 October 2000 at Atlanta Dragway (Commerce). '87 Buick GN with K&N & Terry Houston downpipe. No posi and a crank sensor problem attributing to excessive knock retard and killing top end.
