Ford injector question..w/in
I just partially installed a set of for injectors into my car...I stopped because Iwas not feeling really good about the way they were going in...First of all the injectors are looser than the stock ones...In that bolted dow I can easily rotate them in a circle where the GM ones you had to FORCE....I suspect this was due to the smaller o-ring size...So Ill get some larger ones and try that...
But my question is about the install into the rail......
Ford has 2 SLOTS...One towards the top and one further down...The one towardsw the top is to ONLY one a GM clip will fit on...The one towards the bottom does not go all the way around the injector..
So I Used the one at the top... The potenntial problem is that the clip is closer to the top than the GM one is... When I measured the rail and the injector It appears as if the O ring will be just BArely into the FLAT of the fuel rail....So that "SHOULD" not be a problem.... Im just wondering what others have done?? Used the higher slot or modified te lower slot to Push the injector way up into the rail....??
It appears if I mod ther lower slot then Ill have to file down the fuel rail mounts to seat them better...

Actually, i think a lot of people forgo the clips whn using ford injectors. Just like you said, they hold the injector in the wrong place. Once the rail is bolted down the injectors aren't going anywhere so you don't really need the clips.

I installed my #24 SVO's right outa the box, with no problems what so ever. Yeah, they are a bit loser, but they wont leak. Also, the clips will only work one way with them, but it does work just fine. I thought the same things when installing mine, but after acually bolting down the rail, I realized that they were just fine.
Good luck!
Good luck!
