Vette to IROC

I have an opportunity to get some aluminum corvette heads off an 88 vette, i was wondering if it wold be to much of a hassle to put them on my 88 IROC. F.Y.I. He is dropping the motor in favor of a 400 small block

Well, first you have to take off the TPI. That would take you an hour or 2 maybe depending on how fast you are working. Then you just unbolt the old heads and exhaust manifold. Considering the project I am doing right now on my 89 Iroc... I would give body parts for a task like this

The vette heads have the old style manifold bolt angle, but you should be able to slot your bolt holes on the manifold.

First pocket port those #113 heads, 2.00/1.56" valves, RRs, toss the oil shedders, etc.; it's worth another 20-25hp to work those heads. If you like you can port match the intake runners to a larger base for later addition. The chambers are 58cc so you may need to open em up a little when porting.

You will need to get the external EGR tubes from the Vette and have the lower one welded into the passenger side exhaust manifold.

I think the TPI will bolt up since the heads are post '86.

Vette heads never went to the newer bolt angle. They all have the old style angle.
