Hey guys, got a bunch oblt on questions, need some opinions.
Since it is almost "upgrade season" I want to improve upon the l98 in my 91. So far the current upgrades are in my sig. I was thinkin of adding a set of roller tip rockers, pulleys, a chip, lower temp t'stat, water pump, and an ignition module. These are my choices, do they sound like they'll wok?
1 roller tip rockers, Comp Cams Magnum 1.6 self aligning, not the Pro-magnum, would thse work out with the Moroso valve covers i got? Moroso says that they are machined for extra clearance, but id rather hear from experience.
2 March power and amp series 3 piece pullies, will i have charging problems? If so i will scatch the pulley idea.
3 Ed Wright chip, i dont think he has to custom burn one for these mods.
4 t'stat...to go with the chip
5 water pump, is edelbrock the only one that make an aluminum pump for reverse cooling?
6 I wanted to go with the MDS module, any complaints?
These are only my engine mods, various suspension stuff will be goingon to, along set of hi-flow cats. Any comment or warnings i should know about? TIA guys.

Hey
I wouldnt go with underdive pullys, they just slow down stuff u need like the water pump, If the car is a daily driver I would leave out the pullys because ur engine will most likly run hotter, If its a track car then its allright seeing how the car is on for a half hour the shut of for a bit...

I suggest you go with the ProMagnums to get the benefit of full RRs. Since these require hardened guide plates & pushords you might as well step up to ARP 7/16" studs too.
If you run a 160 deg stat & fan sw or chip you can go with a 2-pulley set.
When you upgrade the ignition: MSD or HyperTech coil, wires and plugs. Cut back the plug ground electrodes and open the gap for some "free" hp.

Thanx for the replies. Just to let you know ths car isnt driven on a daly basis. Its more of a weekend car, and maybe a trip to the track for s**ts and giggles. I understand the full benifits of the full roller rockers, but would it be a necessity? I dont wanna have the heads machined for the bigger studs, cause later down the road I will have the motor rebuilt and the heads will more than likely get changed. As for the pulleys, i dont think they are a necessity.
Also, I already have 8.8 wires ad an msd coil, i was just gonna get their module to sort of keep from mixing brands. Thanx again guys.

Stay away from the pullies. If you aren't going to make your own chips, the Fastchip is the best, but you really don't need it with just those few things.

91TPI5.7, I foregot that you don't have Al heads so the studs are pressed in. In such case I might just skip the roller tips till you get new heads.
There are other places to put the $$ to get performance.

I went with a Stewart Stage II aluminum water pump, part # 23123 for 87 and up small blocks (reverse rotation). Stewart is presumeably the best in the business. NASCAR uses them, so I guess that statement might be true. I haven't installed mine yet, but it looks like a nice piece. Oh, and at $150, it's about the same price as the Edelbrock which Stewart claims to out-perform hands down. I received mine two days after I ordered it, factory direct.
