Because the higher pressure pumped through a smaller injector promotes better fuel atomization and therefore burns more completely in the combustion chamber.

Besides 19 lb/hr injectors can be incorporated into applications as large as 350hp. Its not like they ar inferior parts.

The biggest reason for using SVO injectors is not because they work better than GM injectors....its the PRICE. You can buy a set of SVO injectors for $150. You would probably pay $80 an injector to get them at the dealer. Since they work "just as well" as GM injectors...SVO is the way to go.

keep in mind that the ford inj. is rated at a lower psi and makes 19#s as the 305 gm 19# injectors are floing that at a higher psi. so in short the 19# svo inj are going to be more of a 20-22# inj when put in a 42 psi system. I can't remember the excact number but you get the idea

if the 302's 19# inj are rated at 36 psi then it will be 22#hr at 42psi

They come out to be 20 lb/hr running at 43 psi (3 bar). Ford rates at 39.6 psi.
