Hey, question I have an 88 IROC w/ a 350 TPI and Auto. I wanted to know if I could take the ECM out of say a little bit new IROC and throw it in mine? Would it Work? Would there be benifits? Thanks!

Only one that you can directly swap in is one from an 89, but unless you have VATS on your car now it wont start with the 89 chip unless you have someone turn the VATS off. The 90-92 requires some rewiring and changing a sensor or two.

I'd say stick with what you have unless you know a little bit about the ECM's and programming the PROM.

Clarifying for future readers: The 86-89 ECM's are actually the same so all you'd need is the chip.
