If your oil pressure doesn't behave as you think it should you can always replace the oil sender behind your intake manifold. Your pressure should be high when cold and gradually come down a bit, and raise with rpms. 10 psi per 1000rpm is safe, but when hot the lowest my pressure falls is about 20psi. The thickness and type of oil could have something to do with it as well.

15 PSI is normal at idle for these cars when they are at operating temp, that's were i'm at. Under load, it's around 40ish.

Sounds like it's time for a new oil pump. How many miles are on the ol' girl?

Install a manual test guage (pick one up from your local auto parts store), it's the only way to tell for sure. I'm not certain where to install the guage, I assume that you would pull out the sending unit and test it there. But find out for sure.

i think the oil presure gauge is screwed up.... it is always sitting up at around 60 psi ( top of gauge ) it doesnt move much either. im very confident that the engine is running fine, i would just like to all of the gauges functioning properly.
