Finished LT1 intake swap...take a look
I finally finished the swap. It's amazing how uncluttered and clean my engine bay is now. I think I could change injectors in ~15 min. I just took it for a spin around the block with only one problem...I'm having a hell of a time getting the water neck to t-stat housing to stop leaking. I'm hooking it up to the scanner tomorrow and start the prom burning process. Stay tuned for performance results.
I ordered two stainless elbows and found some stainless pipe at work, then had a guy in the shop weld it up for me. I ordered the red turbo hose connections from hose techniques.com to connect the MAF. I went ahead and had him cut me another piece of stainless to take the place of the MAF when I convert to MAP. The throttle body is a 58mm TPI Edlebrock that I was using on my LTR setup.

Looks great! How did you paint the intake? I hope mine looks that good when I'm done. :hail:
Have you noticed any difference on the "butt dyno"?
I also have the ZZ4 motor, what were your times before you did the swap?

First thing I did when I got the intake was a thorough cleaning, then a couple hours sanding and polishing out the top fins. I taped off the fins and the mating surfaces (TB, head), then painted with hi temp paint.
I've only driven it a 1/2 mile, just to make sure I had the throttle and TV cables working right, so I didn't run it hard. I guess I can tell a little loss in torque. Geez, this motor has always been unbelievable on the low end, so as long as I've gained it on top I don't care...maybe I can launch better now. My best g-tech run before the swap was 13.25 @108. I won't be doing any WOT runs until I get all the part throttle stuff tuned in. That could take 10 chip revisions. After a few scans and prom burns tonight I will definately have an opinion of the performance potential. If I find out I'm maxing the MAF to 255 gps at a low rpm, I'm going to go ahead and do the swap to MAP and 730 ECM right away, before I invest months into tuning this thing.

Where did you get the fuel lines made?? I have checked with EVERYBODY here in Des Moines and they don't have the fittings!! I am currently finishing the LT1 intake swap and within a month I will have the new engine and trans installed as long as the money keeps flowing.
