does this mod actually work??

I am planning on buyng an IROC-Z or WS6 pretty soon so i am doing my homework on TPI mods, I found this coolant bypass mod in one of the tech articles:

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...ntbypass.shtml

is this a good idea? would this actually give you a little hp increase? has anyone done this? and is it safe?

It may give a very small increase in power when the engine is warming up, but not when it is completely warm because the heat from combustion will eventually be absorbed by the intake anyhow. It does more to clean up the front of the engine than to increase power. It's perfectly safe unless you're in an area where having the throttle blades freeze is possible.

well seeing as how I live in Tucson, the coldest night during the summer will be around 80-90 degrees lol.

I'll probably do this during the summer, and re-connect it during thw winter.
