Got a 85 700 R-4, 50,000mi, no shift kit. Recently changed tranny fluid & filter, used Amsoil to refill. Used half regular Amsoil synthetic and half Amsoil Super Shift, in hopes of tightening up WOT upshifts slightly. Made no real difference. WOT upshifts when cold are real crisp, when it warms up, WOT upshifts are "lazy", not tight & crisp. Would 100% Super Shift be helpful enough, or do I need a Trans-Go kit to make it "firm"? Under normal driving, at normal operating tempreature , transmission shifts great. No slippage in gear or any other problems. However, at WOT at normal operating temp, I don't like when it "slides" on upshift. I'd prefer not going inside the tranny if possible. If a higher concentration of Super Shift would help, I'd try it. Comments?
I hope Amsoil has not joined the B&M "trick shift" crowd. Oils do best when they prevent wear, if you are looking to make it shift quicker/firmer, then it is not in a bottle. Amsoil in the past has always had a good oil, not sure of this new one though? Put in the Trans-Go Performance Shift kit along with their accumulation setup, Corvette servo, both boost valves, and you will solve all the above problems, and you can keep the Amsoil in it. Let me know?

When you change the tranny fluid and filter, you only get half(or less)of the capacity out of the tranny anyway. So now you are running 1/4 of the super shift. No magic fluid is going to make it shift better.
