Weird shifting Problem!!!!

Hi,

I have a 82 Camaro w/ a 305 carb. I'm not sure which tranny though?!?!

One day I was driving to work and my tranny just stoped working in 3 and 4th gears. What happen is: If I manually shift it into 2nd it rides fine but if I put it into drive(3rd), it shifts but it doesn't hold it, I guess... The RPM's will go down when I go into 3rd, but as soon as I press on the gas it just starts reving like it's in neutral.

The only thing I can think of is a couple of months ago I broke my down-shift (detent) cable, and didn't fix it... A friend was going to help me with it but it never happen!!!!!

Is it possible that the down-shift cable caused my tranny to get out of alignment or something of the like?????

I REALLY miss my Camaro!!!!! Please can any one help me!!!

It's the TV Cable...

I would guess your tranny is toast. Driving without the t.v cable causes it to upshift really early and with low line pressure, which probably burnt the clutches.
