I have an '82 Camaro SC with a 350SBC, TH200 and 2.73's.
I have the option to buy a TH350 and limited slip rearend gearing from a 1977 TransAM for about $200 Canadian. Will the gearing fit in my car? Does any one know what ratio gearing the factory equiped the T/A's with? Also did the T/A's tranny's have the right Tailshaft length for a direct bolt on? Thanks guys

 

No they won't fit. Yours are 7.5 the '77 is 8.2 or 8.5 ring gear size.
The 350 trans should be the same length as the th200. Although I don't think the 350 would have a tq. arm mount but you can get an after market one.(tq. arm brkt.)

you can find 3.42 gears in the overdrive S-10 trucks and 3.42 or 3.73 in alot of F body cars with T5 and 700r4, i have a nice 1984 F body 3.73 axle complete i would sell for cheap if you had way to get it.. they are common ratio axles to find, all i ever run into are 3.73 around here, i finally found a 2.73 one, that was hard to find.. i also have a 78-87 G body 2.28 axle for sale chesp, dont need it, its tight and clean, anyeone know where i can advertise either axle ? i trade for chevy truck parts 67-72, so....i would trrade the whole 84 SE for as truck body of any year, 71-87 running or not, trucks and 80-older cars are hard as hell to find in central IL these days.. i nedd to quit all this and move west or south, AR and AZ have TONS of OLD stuff everywhere, i about died when i went to AR couple weeks back, damn.,, no rust even,, thats sick,...
