Either a 200c or a 4 speed standard Saginaw. If your looking for a TH350 swap for your 86 I suggest you find a full sized truck with a TH375 and use it. This 375 has the same sectional tailshaft as a TH700R4 so you can swap them over and mount the tq arm brace, it also uses the same detnet cable as the 200c&700R.

I don't think the TH-700 saw life till the 83 models.

BTW: I have a 200c setting in my garage (Can't give it away), from my 200c - 350 swap...the swap is a piece of cake...

Not sure, but this might come in handy:

1982
Saginaw 4 Speed Manual transmission (Z-Bar)
Borg Warner T10 4 Speed Manual Transmission (Z-Bar)
TH200C 3 Speed Automatic transmission

1983
Saginaw 4 Speed Manual transmission (Z-Bar, 4 Cylinder Only)
Borg Warner T10 4 Speed Manual Transmission (Z-Bar, 4 Cylinder Only)
TH200C 3 Speed Automatic transmission
TH700R4 4 Speed Auto Overdrive Trans
Borg Warner T5 5 Speed Manual (Non world class, Z-Bar)

1984
TH700R4 4 Speed Auto Overdrive Trans
Saginaw 4 Speed Manual transmission (Hydraulic Clutch, 4 Cylinder Only)
Borg Warner T10 4 Speed Manual Transmission (Hydraulic Clutch, 4 Cylinder Only)
Borg Warner T5 5 Speed Manual (Non World Class, Hydraulic Clutch)

1985-1988
TH700R4 4 Speed Auto Overdrive Trans
Borg Warner T5 5 Speed Manual (Non World Class, Hydraulic Clutch)

1989-1992
TH700R4 4 Speed Auto Overdrive Trans
Borg Warner T5 5 Speed Manual (World Class, Hydraulic Clutch)

This information is accurate to the best of my knowledge. My transmission is out and lets just say I have been doing a little research.

LOL, thanks for all that info man! I am going from a 700r4 to th350 so all I need is the xmember and drive shaft off of a 200c. And I found one ('82 camaro) in a junk yard and was wondering if it was a 200c. But I guess it has got to be one since its an auto. The only thing is its a V6 and was wondering if the xmember and ds would be the same as a V8......

The DS and cross member is the same, I used my crossmember and ds out of my 4cyl bird, and both sre holding together just fine.

i have a Q regardign all this, i have an 82 trans am 305 car and has th350 in it right now, originally auto trans car, so was th200 at one time,

now when the previous owner put the 350 in wouldnt he have to have a tailshaft for it that has the holes in ot to mount up the torque arm bar back to the rear axle ?! what am i gonna find when i crawl under car ? anyone guess ?
am i gonna want ot look under there ? tranyn and engine hahve to come out soon anyways, i dont think tranny is any good, may need rebuilt dunno yet for sure,
and engine is a 350 4 bolt truck that bottom end siezed up somehow. i pulled the top end off the engine today, it had 82 305 heads on it, 14062201 heads..

thanks

Fast68, you will most likely see this adapter on the tailhousing of the TH350. It allows you to bolt the stock torque arm to the TH350 without a custom tailshaft.

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=12452

its part number BMM-30299 from Summit.

interesting, i doubt that the previous owner spent all that much $$ on it to convert it, probably iwl find a jimmy rig under it.,,

am still afraid to look under, i may do it later today though. found out engine is an 82 truck 350 though, TBL suffix code

thanks!

I have an 82 LU5 that originally came with a 200. It was converted to a T350 before I bought it. The previous owner had welded the torque arm attachments to the T350 tail housing. They did a pretty good job and it doesn't look like too big of a deal to do.
The kickdown cable was from a 70's T350 truck.
I recently converted to a T5. I had to get a different crossmember, shorter drive shaft, and located new holes in the frame for the crossmember.

82 Z28, LU5 still alive
