I replaced my throwout bearing, but the problem persists. Please help.

305tbi t-5 When I put the shifter in gear, any gear, but keep the clutch disengaged(foot all the way down on the clutch), I have what sounds like a grinding or it really sounds like the throwout bearing running on the pressure plate. It stops if I put it in neutral. I replaced the bearing. It was my first time, but it went smoothly. Did I do something wrong. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Your throwout bearing, if bad, will make noise anytime the clutch pedel is depressed; assuming the eng is running.

You said the noise goes away when in neutral, was that with your foot off the clutch?

If you have a noise that appears with tranny in gear, goes away when shifted to neutral, and the clutch is depressed the whole time, could be your clutch is not fully disengaging.

So that would be bad hydraulics? Or a worn fork?

I've always had an automatic in my Z, so I'm not real familiar with your set-up, but I'd be looking at the hyds first.
Have you bleed the system yet?
