Question about changing the tranny filter - NEED HELP QUICK!!!

Question about changing the tranny filter - NEED HELP QUICK!!!

the tube part of the filter that has the o-ring type seal on it. When Putting this up inside the tranny is there a groove that the seal slips into or is the inside of the transmission hole smooth all the way up?

it's been a while, but i think it's smooth and just sort of a press fit, i usually tap the fillter in place with a soft hammer
