If I shift into second manually it acts like its in neutal, but reving the engine to 4000 in 2nd gear it pulls a little like it wants to go into gear. Forth is just gone, I just put car into drive and it shifts from 1st to 3rd sort of like a 2 speed. What the hell is wrong

 

Do you have reverse? If not then the Sun Shell is broken. If you do then the 2/4 Band is likely toast and from the neutral in 2nd complaint I would say the Forwards aren't far behind. IOW the tranny is toasted.

 

But teh tranny was just rebuilt 1500 miles ago. how can that be, the car was sittin for 8 months also. some guy pulled out in front of me and i had to get my car fixed, any way it has a trans go shify kit in it and is built with heavy duty stuff
