Replace clip or whole cable??
Replace clip or whole cable??
The plastic clip which attaches the cable to the throttle is broken. It is still attached to the wire though , but will no longer snap on the stud. I have another good clip I've found but to use it I would have to get that little crimp nut off. I've tried to sqeeze it from the other side but the cable won't slip off it. Can I cut the cable close to the nut , slip it through the clip , then locate one of these crimp nuts and reuse the tv cable ? Or by cutting the 3/16 - 1/4 off Is the cable useless? Thanks
Sorry, forgot to mention, it's my TV cable which the clip broke on. Can anyone help. Can I cut a little off , slip another clip on there or is there some professional way to reverse the force of that crimp nut?
I think they sell (can't think of who at the moment) repair ends for throttle and TV cables that have a small slit in them to allow you to slide it over the cable and retain the stock crimp.
Another trick you could try is to carefully cut a slit the extra plastic clip with a jewlers saw or Dremel tool. Then slip it onto the cable.
Hope this helps.
