Why does mine have the governor??!!

Alright guys..I have an 88 iroc 305 TPI with the T-5. I used to have 3.08 gears but it blew out so i got 3.45 i think...but anyways, I was wonder how to get the governor off...it seems to kick on at 3000 RPM's....I just got beat by a civic si cause it only does 120..thanks

With the 3.08 gears, 3000 rpm is aroudn 120. Since the gear swap your speedo is off. With those gears 3000 rpm is around 106mph. A chip reprogram may fix the speed limiter.

There are 2 ways around the governor. If you try using the search feature i bet you could find both of them
