3.27s to 4.10s HOW!!

I have a stock limited slip rearend from a 1988 GTA with 3.27 gears. I think I want 4.10s because I only drive the streets here and there. Do I have to buy bearings too or can I just get the gears? What gears do I have to get--10 bolt 7.5?? Can I put them in myself or no? Will it be ok to keep the limited slip rather than the posi? Thanks all

If you have 3.27s it is a 9 bolt borg warner rear. The only place I would know of to get those gears would be www.9bolt.com They are expensive though. Oh, and also limited slip=posi. If you have a borg warner rear it is real doubtful that you would not have posi although it is possible to get one without posi.

2.77, 3.27, 3.45 are factory 9 bolt gears. 2.73, 3.23, 3.42, and 3.73 are factory 10 bolt gears. 3.08 was available in either but most comon in 10 bolts. If it has 3.27 gears it is a n 9 bolt which is actually stronger than the 10 bolt. If you want to check for your self all you have to do is count the amount of bolts holding the differential cover on.

OK now i get it. I was counting earlier and I thought I messed up, but I do have a 9 bolt 3.27s. Now what gears can I get to fit in there good. I ws thinking between 3.73s and 4.10s because I drive the streets a little bit here and there. Can I just get the gears and no bushings? Any suggestion on brand, dont have much money..

We mean Miles from www.9bolt.com.

He's the resident 9-bolt guru and parts expert.

He can get you the gears you need and give you good advice about your project. I'm installing a set of 3.27s in my Iroc to replace my 2.77s.

Just to warn you, 9-bolt parts ain't cheap!!

Sorry, day job got in the way of things again

Like the guys said, I have ratios up to 4.10 (and lots of other 9 bolt parts) available. It's all at www.9bolt.com and unfortunately, it's not cheap, but contrary to what most people will tell you, the parts are now available
