I appreciate everybody laughing!!!

Would like to ditch the 4-speed manual sometime soon. What tranny should/can I go with? This is for an 84.

Let me ask another question. Just how strong is this 4-spd I have? Can it take on a V-8?

Very doubtful. If you'll be getting a V8 soon then either keep what you have till then or get the 700R4.

84Challenge, did you know that the rear axle you have is probably sporting a 3.73 rear gear? That rear axle is "just as strong" as the v8 axles, too! Since you have a manual-4, the rear axle should be a 3.73/open/drum, just like the '84 Camaro H.O.

I didn't realize this. It has come to mind though and appreciate the info! Have alot to learn about the F-Body. I've been into late model Stangs, i.e. 1999+ for the past couple years. Just sold my 2000 GT this year. Anyway, to perform a V-8 swap on a late model V-6 Stang, the rearend must be changed along with the engine.
