i've got a 700r4 and my 3rd and 4th gear clutches are gonzo. I was wondering what causes this to happen? (driving habits, etc.)

 

This is one of the common failures in a 700, particularly if driven hard. Why does this happen? A number of reasons from the original calibrations and problems that the 700 has, to high RPM manual 1st and 2nd gear driving. What can you do to prevent it?
