Tranny cooler/temps

Whats considered the "over heat" temperature for a 700R4?

I ask because I'm considering mounting locations for a tranny cooler, it seems to me that flush mounting it to the front of the radiator isn't the best Idea simply because where as the tranny might not even be warm yet the engine may be at 195 degrees thus raising the trannys temp with it.

Whats the verdict on TO HOT, and wheres a good spot for a tranny cooler?

(It was in front of the passenger side front wheel, but the new one is to big)

I dont have an ac condensor so in front of the radiator physically works.

Well, I run B&M's largest plate style cooler in front of my radiator and my tranny's temps haven't gotten over 145ish yet. The cooler sits in front of my Griffin radiator that cools my 383 so I don't think heat from that is a big factor. Just make sure your air dam is good to go and you should be okay. I believe I've read that greater than 250 degrees in a tranny is a problem, but don't take that for gospel.

I have heard you want tranny oil temps around the 180 mark....
