What tranny?
I'm looking at buying an '82 Bird with the 2.8L and a three speed automatic. What transmission is that? Is it a Turbo 350? If not will a small block bolt up to it anyways?

It's a TH200C and a V6-specific bellhousing pattern. If you put a V8 in, you need a V8 transmission.
The good news is that the driveshaft is the same length as you'll need for a 6" tailshaft housing TH350.
Don't pay too much for it if you intend to put a V8 in it. In the end, it's typically cheaper to get a V8 car than to get a V6 car and put a V8 in it. With all the parts you'll need, it's best to get a V8 donor car, so if you just bypass the "swap" part and get a factory V8 car, you're dollars ahead. Even if you put a different engine in it.
