can't get speedo drive gear off

can't get speedo drive gear off
I'll pushed, pulled and tugged every which way and that clip with no luck. Any secrets that I don't know about?

Axle/Gears: 3.23 Dana 44
you have to push down on the the front of the clip to release the speed gear.... this may help..
