help me fix this leak!!

hello all

I lost 4 quarts of trans fluid in 20 minits today, it was shifting real bad....

anyways, 1 of the cooler lines appears to have a severe leak, and the nature of things dictates that it will most likely be the one in the back of the tranny, which as I recall is a real PITA to get to.
While im not certain its the cooler line, the leak is dropping down from the line, and seems to be coming from where the line starts(havent jacked the car up yet)

so what is the easies way to access these lines, and to bend the lines, last time, the lines available to me were to short or way to long, so i ended up wrapping the line like a corkscrew around a bottle of brake cleaner.

I was thinking of putting a mail barbed fitting into the tranny, and running a 3/8 fuel hose to the radiator, but this seems impossible cuz the headers look like there in the way.

so any help will be greatly appreciated

peace

I used the metal lines out past the headers..then I cut them and used highpressure hose attached to the metal line with hose clamps to run to the cooler...it may be the dipstick rubber or the tv gasket, sounds like alot of loss though....High pressure is the key word here...use 2 clamps

hey, thats a good idea, didnt think of that.

so I picked up my male barbed adapters to screw into the tranny, I test fit one on the cooler for the radiator, and I think its the right size, the thread is 5/16ths I believe, anyways, what I have will go into the hole, but it feels really stiff, so i didnt turn the wrench for fear of stripping. what I got says:
"5/16-hose, 1/4 pipe"
I think its a pipe thread, so I am not gonna use it, please correct m if im wrong.

im gonna tear it apart tommorow provided I can find someone todrive me to pick up my jack/stands.

Im not sure of the size....I used both ends of the stock line, I just spliced the HP line in between..good luck

fixed!!

the lead was caused by the cooler line resting against the starter, apparently the vibratios of the starter ended up wearing down a section in the cooler line and created a leak, so I used male barbed fittings with some tranny hose, its all fixed up...

also, I finally found a use for the Robo-Grip plyres that were given to me 3 years ago as an xmas present, I decided to replace the harmonic balancer, and didng have a 32mm wrench to put it back on with, but the robogrips worked great! although my hand is numb
