Borg warner 9 bolt

I was checking out the rear end of my 85 z28 realising its pretty odd that i have read disk breaks,it turns out i haev a borg warner 9 bolt (posi?) with 3-27 gears and disk breaks. Is this rear end worth anything performance wise?(besides the disks of course)i was thinking of upgrading my gears and maybe even getting a 12 bolt but im just sorta curious if anyone has anything to tell about this rear end,thanks.........

the rear end is quite a bit stronger than a 10 bolt

it has no C-clips, 4 spider gears.... but parts are difficult to find and about 2-3 times the price of a similar 10-bolt car

Extremely strong.

Extremely, extremely expensive to get replacement parts.

Been there, done that.

The 9 bolt is as strong or stronger than a dana 44 according to Hot Rod magazine. Ratios to 4.10 are available. More information is available at www.9bolt.com
