i recently had a hurst shifter installed in my 82 t/a at my local transmission shop. now they were able to get my 4 main gears working, but could not get reverse. BTW my car is standard.. anyways now i was wondering if i could somehow get a custom rod, hook it up to the reverse nipple on the transmission and run it up into the car and up beside my main shifter.. what do you guys think about this idea.. i mean not having reverse is a real pain in the *** and i think this mite be something i could do..i think i could just put the main shifter in neutral, then the second shifter could operate reverse.. only problem is to find some kind of bendable rod that would fit down onto the tranny and up into the car.. any ideas on this would be great. it's gonna be a little project so any comments would be cool
