i might pick up a 84' 10 bolt disk rear. i an going to do a mild build-up of the rear. theses rears have 26 spline axles right? so i would need to get a set of 28 spline axles. Are 10 bolt axles the same from either disk or drum? if the axles are the same i will pick up the rear. 89'-up 28 spline axles are plentiful on drum equpped vehicles. i know on 9 bolts the axle flange for a drum is larger.

 

The 84 will have 26 spline.

I've never checked the difference between a factory drum and disk axle but the aftermarket axles I used worked with both.
