Stupid question
Stupid question
I don't want my TCC to lockup until I am decent at burning proms so I can adjust some of the constants. Anyway, I unplugged the lockup connector from the tranny. Will this keep it unlocked so I don't worry about burning up the clutches? Thanks for the help.

Actually its the reverse. When the TC is locked, it reduces friction. If the Tc is unlocked the transmission will generate more heat thus producing more wear on the clutches.
So when the TC is locked, the clutches are disengaged, and when the TC is unlocked the clutches are engaged?
So by unplugging the lockup connector did I permanently disengage or engage the clutches?

When people refer to the TC clutch that’s the clutch inside of the torque converter. That clutch is what locks and unlocks and is unlocked when the plugin is disconnected. The actual R1234 clutches have nothing to do with the TCC lockup it's just when the TCC is disengaged your car will turn more RPM @40+ MPH "40+ being lockup speed". This extra RPM will increase heat and have an adverse effect on the actual R1234 clutches.
